Certificate earned at December 21, 2023Google | CourseraI successfully completed the course "The Process and Lifetime of a Space Mission" with Arizona State University. This course provided a comprehensive exploration of the intricate journey involved in creating a NASA robotic space mission. Covering various aspects from ideation to flight, the course delved into the preparation and proposal submission, team-building, design, construction, modeling, testing, launching, tracking, and data collection and analysis processes. Throughout the course, real-world examples from NASA's Psyche mission were shared, offering insights into the initial stages of this groundbreaking mission. Psyche, an asteroid orbiting the Sun between Mars and Jupiter, became the focal point of the course, emphasizing its significance as the first mission to a world likely composed largely of metal rather than rock or ice. The practical knowledge gained in this course provided valuable insights into the complexities and nuances of managing and executing a space mission, contributing to a deeper understanding of the processes involved in space exploration.
November 14, 2023Arizona State UniversityI successfully completed the EDx course, 16.893x: Engineering the Space Shuttle, which provided an in-depth exploration into the design, operation, and broader implications of the Space Shuttle program. Delving into the intricacies of the Shuttle's subsystems, including rocket engines, thermal protection, aerodynamics, environmental control, and life support, among others, the course offered a comprehensive understanding of its technological intricacies. Moreover, it examined the Shuttle's operational aspects, covering launch procedures, mission control, payloads, and more. The course took a systems engineering approach, providing valuable insights into the complexities of Shuttle development and operations. As a case study, it highlighted both the successes and shortcomings of reusable space systems, offering pertinent lessons for current space initiatives emphasizing reusability. The three fundamental sections, encompassing history and policy, technical design, and operational aspects, provided a well-rounded perspective. Notably, the course underscored the interplay of politics and economics in the conception, approval, and execution of large-scale public technology programs, contributing to a holistic understanding of the Space Shuttle's role in aerospace history.
April 27, 2022EdXParticipating in the three-day workshop conducted by STAR Space Technology and Aeronautical Rocketry was a transformative experience that laid the foundation for my future career. This virtual workshop proved to be a pivotal step, guiding me through fundamental concepts such as center of mass and the rocket equation, forming the bedrock of my understanding of aerospace engineering. Despite being conducted online, the workshop provided hands-on exposure to open-source aerospace engineering software, offering practical insights into the technical aspects of the industry. This immersive learning opportunity marked my initial foray into the technical realm of aerospace, setting the stage for my ongoing journey in the field.
January 13, 2023 - January 15, 2023Space Technology and Aeronautical RocketryI had the incredible opportunity to attend Space Camp India, a 10-day camp hosted at Lovely Professional University in Punjab, India. Despite being in my senior year of high school, I found myself surrounded by hundreds of like-minded individuals, all aspiring aerospace engineering enthusiasts. The camp provided a platform to interact with renowned figures from the Indian space industry, offering lectures ranging from technical rocket science to the hands-on experience of building drones.
Throughout the camp, I had the privilege of being lectured by celebrities in the Indian space domain, gaining insights into their experiences and expertise. A highlight of the event was the chance to meet Akshat Moh, a trained NASA astronaut, who shared invaluable knowledge and inspiration. The camp featured workshops covering diverse topics, and I actively participated in two, receiving certificates for both.
The first workshop focused on Model Rocketry, where we crafted rockets using solid fuel motors and launched them into the sky. The second workshop, Space Robotics, allowed us to delve into designing a robotic arm for potential space applications and rovers using Arduino and various components.
Staying in the hostels for the entire duration provided a unique dormitory experience, marking my first encounter with hostel life. Overall, Space Camp India proved to be an enriching and immersive exposure to the aerospace industry, leaving an indelible impact on my understanding and passion for space exploration.
